Who I Am
I'm Minuka Chenul Jayawardana - an undergraduate reading for a BSc (Hons) in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science at the Informatics Institute of Technology, affiliated to Robert Gordon University, Scotland.
Before stepping into the world of AI, I spent my school years at Royal College Colombo 07, where leadership and discipline became a big part of who I am, from serving as a Senior Prefect to captaining the school’s Rifle Shooting team.
I’ve spent years mastering precision in two very different arenas. As a competitive shooter, I achieved National Schools 3rd Place multiple times and qualified as a Sharpshooter. As a musician, I perform as a Principal Oboist with national and international orchestras and have won Gold at the Asia Pacific Choir Games.
Both disciplines demand focus, control, and relentless practice which are qualities that now shape my approach to technology. My curiosity about how intelligent systems can solve complex problems has led me to explore the world of AI, where creativity and analytical thinking come together to build impactful solutions. Through my studies and personal work, I’ve also developed several projects exploring machine learning, data analysis, and intelligent system design.
The same discipline I bring to a target ten meters away or a solo on stage is what I bring to every line of code. I build intelligent systems, lead teams, and always aim for the bullseye.
